【ご挨拶】
Hawaii – sunshine, beautiful beaches and gentle breezes. There is no better place for a medical meeting to learn, teach and exchange ideas in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. For over 60 years, the Pan Pacific Surgical Society has welcomed surgeons from around the world, and our 2016 meeting should be the best ever. Our main themes for 2016 are Fat Grafting and West meets East. Fat Grafting: this track will be directed by Dan Delvecchio from Harvard. Experts from the U.S. and Asia will give the latest information about fat grafting to the breast, fat graft survival, stem cells, and everything else fat. Drs. Ohashi and Yamakawa from Japan will share their technique of immediate fat grafting after implant removal – with several years experience in hundreds of cases. Dr. Lu Feng from China will share his experience using BRAVA and fat grafting for breast reconstruction, and how his results compare to those of Roger Khouri. West meets East: US doctors are unfamiliar with the brilliant work being done by our colleagues in Asia; we hope to change that. Our keynote speaker in this track is Dr. Wang Wei from Shanghai. Dr. Wang is best known to western doctors as the China International Associate Editor for the PRS journal and the editor of the Chinese textbook on plastic surgery. He will review the last 50 years of plastic surgery in China. He has been a part of it all, starting as a pioneer in microsurgery at a time when China was isolated from the rest of the world, then living through the turmoil of the Cultural Revolution, and culminating in establishing China’s foremost training center for plastic surgery – the Ninth People’s Hospital. Dr. Wang has truly “seen it all” both socially and medically, and his talk will give us a unique opportunity to hear about it from the master. Don’t miss it! We are fortunate to have an eclectic group of plastic surgeons and facial plastic surgeons, who love what they do and want to share their wisdom and experience with all of us. For those that have never attended this meeting before, take notice: “no neck ties are allowed.” We strive to create a warm and relaxed atmosphere that allows a comfortable and exclusive setting to exchange ideas and questions on a one-on-one basis, with faculty throughout the meeting. Once again, welcome to Hawaii and we look forward to meeting each and every one of you. Aloha! Warmest Regards, Bob Peterson, MD F. Don Parsa, MD Tom Crabtree, MD Paul Faringer, MD
